Katie and Derek

Adare, Co. Limerick Wedding

Splendour and glamour irish style

This was the most beautiful wedding last summer – celebrated at one of my favourite places in Ireland. Adare Manor, Co. Limerick provided Katie, Derek and 60 guests who travelled from the States with the most magical of weekends.

Derek described the run up to the wedding for us – “My wife & I got married this past August. We are from the States so you can imagine the difficulty in pulling off a destination wedding, nonetheless a destination wedding during Covid! We physically could not get to Ireland until 3 weeks before the wedding and had all sorts of last minute planning things that need to be done”.

It was so important for us to capture our families’ irish heritage in our photos, Nick and team did this just beautifully. In addition… the turnaround time on photos was amazing! Not even 4 weeks and we had all our photos. Amazing. I wish Nick was based in the States so I could use him and team more often!

“Nick not only took incredible photos, but completely removed the stress of “getting all the necessary shots” from the picture. Nick knew exactly which shots needed to be had. He knew the church and the venue inside and out, and of course helped us navigate the on-again/off-again rains on the day of our wedding”.

To say that Nick and his team were amazing is an understatement. Truly an incredibly talented bunch that think of every detail.

Katie did a first look with her father, which was a wonderful highlight. Katie is an only daughter and her father, Paul, of course adores her. I was delighted to be able to capture this gorgeous moment for them.

The ceremony was held in the Holy Trinity Abbey Parish in the village. You can hold your ceremony on the estate – indoor or outdoor, or closeby in the village as Katie and Derek opted to do.

The celebration meal for Katie and Derek was held in The Grand Ballroom – just simply a magnificent setting. It’s situated in the newly refurbished wing of the estate, and never fails to take our breath away.

I was so thrilled to have been part of Katie and Derek’s day and to be able to present some selected photographs from their gorgeous celebration below.
