Tankardstown House Wedding

Weddings at Tankardstown House

Tankardstown House was the perfect choice for Lauren and Eugene, whose wedding brought together guests from nearby but also from over ten different countries. Conveniently located less than an hour from Dublin airport, a Tankardstown House wedding is easily accessible for guests flying in from different parts of the world – it’s a place I’ve always loved love shooting at and I’ve included it in my top list of Irish Manor Houses

Lauren and Eugene’s romantic journey began abroad and has taken them across the globe, uniting family and friends along the way. Every wedding is uniquely special and finding the right place to meet all your requirements can be challenging.

“We were blown away with Tankardstown House. The venue is magical, old-worldly and so glamorous! Everything from the food, the Orangery, the selection of wines, they do not disappoint. The team does such a tremendous job, there’s absolutely nothing to worry about on the day other than to enjoy it!”

Situated in the heart of the Boyne Valley in Slane County Meath, Tankardstown House provides the idyllic backdrop for an unforgettable wedding. The 18th Century Estate includes the grand Manor House with a spectacular Orangery and beautiful Cottage Suites, all seamlessly joined together by courtyards and manicured gardens.

Surrounded by woodlands, the Estate sits gracefully on 80 acres of breathtaking landscapes, creating a magical and intimate space to share with family and friends.

Tankardstown is full of rich character and history, elegantly blended in both a classic and contemporary style that lends itself perfectly to the romance of the occasion. This Estate becomes your home as you celebrate and create precious memories that will last a lifetime for all who attend.

Accommodation options for wedding guests

There’s plenty of accommodation to choose from where family and friends can relax and mingle. The main Manor House has 7 bespoke suites, while the Courtyard Cottages located nearby can accommodate up to 30 people. As well as these, located just a short walk from the Main House, there’s The Lodge.

This recent addition to the Tankardstown Estate comprises 8 luxurious ensuite bedrooms, a lounge, complete with large dining table and comfortable seating area. All are elegantly furnished and styled to the highest standard with no expense spared for a memorable and picture perfect experience.

“The rooms and cottages at Tankardstown are just gorgeous! It was great to have such fabulous accommodation which our family and friends loved”

Tankardstown are also in the process of converting their rustic stables into additional suites that will be ready by summer 2022. When completed, the Main House and immediate surroundings will be able to accommodate up to 100 guests.

For their own special occasion, Lauren and Eugene were able to make the most of the Estate’s great location to organise events throughout the week for guests to enjoy the world-renowned Irish hospitality and culture.

As part of Ireland’s Ancient East, Tankardstown House also means being close to a wealth of historical sites and landmarks to explore and spend time together.

Wedding Ceremonies at Tankardstown House

The big day took place on a beautiful summer’s day in June. The groom and his party were able to walk to St Mary’s Church situated only 500 metres from the Main House.

Tankardstown also offers couples the option to have their ceremony on site in either the magnificent Orangerie, with its gorgeous glass ceiling and sparkling chandeliers, or outside in the open space of the lawns and Walled Garden. Stunning in all seasons, you’re spoiled for choice at this venue.

After the traditional proceedings, guests were welcomed to a drinks reception for a few tipples and canapés held in the drawing rooms of the Main House. The rooms extend outside to the adjoining terraces where family and friends were able to mingle and enjoy some refreshments.

“Nick, our photographer, was super efficient with group shots. It was really important to us to spend time with our family and friends”

The couple, followed by guests, were then led down the beautiful winding staircase to the Orangery for an extravagant meal prepared by the Brabazon culinary team. With ingredients sourced from their own gardens and locally surrounding areas the wedding party were treated to a beautifully prepared feast.

The Orangery is always a highlight on wedding days – filled with rich textures, flowers and candles, all especially tailored to suit the needs of each couple. It can cater for small and large groups of up to 250 guests – and on the day is adapted to suit all sizes while retaining the natural warmth and charm of this luxurious space.

Great pleasure and excitement was had by all as the Groom’s brother sang along with the Bentley Boys who provided the fantastic entertainment and party atmosphere they are renowned for.

“We had a brilliant day with friends and family, and we look back at our photos and videos with so much joy! We wouldn’t change a thing!”

Tankardstown House never fails to deliver a wonderful party and this was certainly true of Lauren and Eugene’s celebration, we had a wonderful day capturing it. It’s a venue that provides endless inspiration to make your special day unforgettable. With so many options on site it makes for fantastic photography that captures those moments that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.

“When it comes to photographers, Nick’s work is impeccable and was an easy choice for us! We think we achieved our goal of a timelessly classic, yet modern wedding”

We are always so happy to return to Tankardstown House to shoot a wedding – the wedding venue always has sets the scene for a wonderful day and Tankardstown always provides for a unique and unforgettable occasion.
