Kilshane house, Romance with a capital R.
Quiet sophistication and relaxed elegance combine to make Kilshane house the most memorable of wedding locations. Think gorgeous sweeping landscapes, Georgian grandeur, soft warm lighting, chandeliers, twinkling lights and lots of candles.
Add to this, champagne and canapes, string quartets, friendship, family, laughter and love and you have the perfect canvass for a magical day. And for one fine weekend it can be all yours!
Travelling home to Ireland for your wedding, is wildly romantic. And dating from the 1820’s, Kilshane House is the irish wedding venue of your dreams. Soft rolling countryside, tree lined driveways that stretch for ever and windows that frame every precious moment.
Ease of access and accommodation for your guests
Catherine and Michael are both from Ireland but not from the immediate area. Ease of access to the venue was important for family and guests travelling from Dublin, Cork and further afield. From an accommodation point of view the main house itself has 16 bedrooms for the extended wedding party and there are further overnight options on site with muses and houses available to rent – all in all Kilshane has room for 116 people in total.
As day broke on this early summer morning, the mist could be seen rising above the fields of ripening barley. “Having the house to ourselves was such fun and allowed us all to relax into the occasion” enthused Catherine about her day.
There was another treat in store, a Scarlett O’Hara moment and every bride’s dream, the chance to sweep down a grand staircase, on the arm of a loved one, framed by a truly beautiful Georgian window.
Wedding Ceremony options at Kilshane
Catherine and Michael chose to exchange vows in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Bansha, Co Tipperary, a small and intimate church, with a nod to an Ireland of a bygone time. The perfect anchor for their special day.
For those wishing to hold their Ceremony at the House itself there are a number of options available – indoor in the Conservatory or outdoors by the lake or in the secret garden, the problem you will face is how to decide!
Time to celebrate!
Official duties completed, it was back to Kilshane House, where their guests were greeted at the elegant front doorway, with trays of sparkling champagne, cocktails, and creamy pints of Guinness.
An exquisite gala dinner was held in the Orangery, prepared by the resident chef and his team, which can comfortably seat up to 280 guests. The Orangery is undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of the House, and a dream location to take exquisite photos in.
Catherine and Michael had opted for a slightly more intimate affair with craic, music, and dancing until dawn. You can’t go wrong with The Bentley Boys – they always keep the dance-floor hopping. All in all, a heady mix to toast any newlyweds.
“We loved the peace of the surrounding parkland, juxtaposed with the grandeur of the house. Taking photos at the lake gave us a few moments to be really present. A magical setting for the most romantic and special day of our lives”
Kilshane House provides all the gravitas that a wedding deserves and yet at the same time, a relaxed and informal setting. “Our guests were able to let their hair down the following day, spending time with friends at a barbecue, quiz and wonderful trad band”.
Catherine and Michael explored and enjoyed every nook of the country estate. And, as the sun set on a surreal weekend, the memories captured will last a lifetime. Simply perfect.
