Sinéad & David’s Elegant Affair

Dromoland Castle Wedding

A wedding at Dromoland Castle full of joy and laughter

Capturing the magic of love stories unfolding against the majestic backdrop of Dromoland Castle is an experience that never ceases to inspire. With its breathtaking scenery and lavish interiors, this historic castle offers an unparalleled backdrop for weddings that are both intimate and grand. Sinéad & David enjoyed an incredible celebration here on their wedding day, but what drew them to this castle in Co. Clare?

Flexibility of Dromoland Castle

What stands out about Dromoland Castle is the flexibility it offers for your wedding day. From arriving in a horse-drawn carriage to hosting your ceremony in the Walled Garden, or setting up a marquee on the lawns, this venue can adapt to your vision.

The Brian Boru Wing

The Brian Boru Wing is particularly noteworthy. With a private entrance, this space can make for a unique arrival. It offers architectural features such as vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. The hall’s layout is adaptable to your wedding size and decor preferences. It also provides outdoor spaces, including a patio and balcony, perfect for receptions spilling outdoors.

Wedding ceremonies in The Walled Garden

For those preferring an outdoor ceremony, the Walled Garden is an excellent choice. This space offers an intimate setting for your vows, particularly during the spring and summer when the garden is in bloom.

Intimate wedding celebrations at Dromoland Castle

Dromoland Castle offers an ‘Intimate Wedding Package’ that is designed for 20-45 guests, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a small yet luxurious celebration.

This package is available from November to March on midweek days (Monday to Wednesday). It includes a drinks reception with champagne on arrival and canapes, accompanied by a harpist for an elegant ambiance. The evening meal is a five-course dinner, with half a bottle of wine per person, personalized stationary, and the venue hire for dining.

A personalized wedding cake and an evening supper round off the food and beverage offerings. The package also includes accommodation – you and your guests will have exclusive access to 25 rooms in the main castle, truly making you the ‘keepers of the castle’ for your special day. The cost of this intimate wedding package starts from €675 per person.

Sinéad & David’s wedding celebration at Dromoland Castle

I’ll be honest, I had such a hard time selecting the photos to showcase for today’s wedding story. This was a celebration chock-full of meticulously planned details that really let their personalities shine through, so each photo is truly better than the last!

The photos reflect how special the day was to Sinéad and David –

“Our wedding was the best day of our lives, full of love and happiness, joy and fulfilment. It was everything we ever dreamed of and we will never forget the excitement and sense of achievement we felt on the day. ‘There is no remedy for love but to love more’ and that is how we felt on the day.”

Our couple can’t say enough good things about the venue –

“From the moment you step into Dromoland Castle, you get a sense of being at home and with family. The venue ticked all the boxes for us – the staff, Brian Boru Hall, the food, the walled garden and Castle surroundings offer more than anyone could imagine or wish for as part of their wedding day.”

Now, where do I even start on the beautiful wedding style? The word that immediately came to my mind on the day was “Elegance”. With the bridal party and masses of florals in shades of white, their guests were treated to a truly sophisticated day.

While choosing the decor was a labour of love for the couple, for Sinéad and David the wedding ceremony itself was their main focus –

“For us the marriage ceremony was the anchor for the day; including family and friends in the ceremony was important to us and remembering those that were no longer with us in a subtle but special way.”

I can tell you that I felt truly honoured to be a part of their celebration. I’ve chosen a selection of photos that I hope will reflect the beautiful style, the laughter, but also the personal and meaningful touches that were planned so carefully by Sinéad and David.
