Killruddery House Wedding

A wedding day in Wicklow to remember

Killruddery House and Gardens is spectacular, with beautiful old world style, big open spaces and an incredible connection to the landscape. Offering a wide variety of beautiful rooms and spaces, it is not only the perfect location for all types of weddings but has also recently caught the attention of the entertainment industry.

Serving as the backdrop for the Netflix series Fate: The Winx Saga, Killruddery House has stunned viewers with its picturesque gardens and breathtaking architecture.

Ceremony spaces at Killruddery House

Reflecting on a beautifully intimate wedding ceremony in this most unique of locations Laura and Tim noted “The Orangery is stunning and has incredible views. We felt like we were outdoors which we loved”.
The Orangery, a victorian conservatory is indeed a spectacular location for your ceremony, from late spring into early autumn when the light is just stunning. Both civil and humanist weddings can be held here. Other Church ceremony options close by include locations in Bray, Greystones and Enniskerry so you really are spoilt for choice if you choose Kilruddery House for your celebration.

We always enjoy shooting a Killruddery House wedding. All food is locally sourced with most coming from the working farm where beef, lamb and pork are reared, free-range and mindfully, and a wide range of seasonal produce is grown in the Walled Garden.

“It was just unique. The grounds are stunning and surrounded by the Wicklow Mountains. I loved the feeling of being part of the natural landscape that I grew up in and it meant we could show my home to our Australian guests”.

The reception was held in the Grain Store which is a beautiful old barn style building with a courtyard. It is a huge open space with high ceilings and exposed brick.

Accommodation options for your wedding guests

While there is no accommodation at Killruddery for guests, the beauty of its location is it’s proximity to Dublin. Many couples will organise wedding buses back towards the city, while lots of guests avail of hotels and Bed and Breakfasts in nearby Bray very handy being only 5 minutes down the road in a taxi.

“We just loved the feel of it and the fact that there was a great outdoor area and a snug room off to the side with an open fire where people could go and chill out. We had considered some other country house style venues but they often felt a bit old fashioned, with small rooms and were too much like a hotel”.

The beautiful location together with Laura and Tim’s infectiously fun-loving, laid-back attitude made for a truly unique wedding day!

“Killruddery stood out for its beautiful old world style, big open spaces and connection to the landscape. The staff were also excellent during the time when we were scoping out venues. They got back to us promptly and never made us feel like we were a burden, they also offered much more flexibility than other places.”

I’ve chosen images from their day to share here that I think reflect not only Laura and Tim’s own personalities but also the essence of the day itself – natural landscapes, open spaces, family, sunshine and FUN!!

Enjoy!
