Castle Leslie Wedding

A wedding dream come true at Castle Leslie

A stunningly beautiful secluded estate in Monaghan, Castle Leslie has been in its founding family since the mid 17th century. Situated at the heart of 1,000 acres of magnificent countryside it boats wonderful natural features from ancient forests to placidly beautiful lakes. Just 80 minutes from Dublin Airport and steeped in history, it offers two fabulous locations for weddings. The castle itself can cater for up to 70 guests, while The Pavilion can accommodate up to 260.

“We wanted to keep the wedding very classic and opted for a green and white colour scheme – lots of ivy, white flowers, white table cloths, and fairy lights all over the room for an added romantic touch. The combination of St. Macartan’s Cathedral, and Castle Leslie grounds made it the perfect fairytale wedding.

Kate and Matthew had a lot of people travelling from the USA to attend their wedding who were easily and luxuriously accommodated across the castle’s 20 recently refurbished and uniquely decorated bedrooms and bathrooms as well as additional bedrooms located in The Lodge, Old Stable Mews and Village Cottages.

“Since we live abroad, we only viewed two venues during our search, with Castle Leslie being the first. After a lot of researching other venues we couldn’t find anything more perfect. Some of our key wants for a venue were to have private use of the hotel and grounds, have the bar and dance-floor in the same location and to be able to accommodate our guests on site. Of course, having it in a castle was a major plus. Castle Leslie was a clear winner – and more than outdid our expectations on the day – the staff are superb!!

The epic, rambling estate makes the most incredible backdrop for photographs as indeed does the Castle itself so we were spoilt for choice when it came capturing this amazing day, and Kate and Matthew had some fantastic ideas about what they wanted too – here are just a few of my favourites for you to take a look at.
